With the Jackson X Series Sginature Scott Ian King V KVXT Black the Californian hard'n'heavy forge and the anthrax guitarist present a jointly developed electric guitar for the hard pace. Based on the sleek King V design, the Scott Ian Signature electric guitar offers a full mahogany construction with full neck and Duncan Designed Humbucker for fat thrash sounds, while the combination of ivory finish and chrome hardware sets optical accents.
With the Jackson King V Scott Ian chose a classical metal guitar as the basis for his signature model. The combination of continuous mahogany neck and body wings made of the same material promises a warm basic tone with fast attack, which provides the perfect basis for fat metal handles. The neck offers not only the fast "Speed Neck" profile, but also a wide rosewood fingerboard with compound radius. Large block inlays also ensure optimum orientation between the 22 jumbo frets.
The Jackson X Series Scott Ian Signature is powered by two Duncan Designed HB-103 humbuckers in the neck and bridge position. As close relatives of the Seymour Duncan Distortion pickups, the two High Output aggregates are the perfect basis for fat riffs and solos. The Duncan Designed HB-103B delivers a particularly hot sound at the bridge of the amplifier, which cuts through the band sound with a sharp mid-focus and burning highs, whereby each stop is represented with a precise contour. On the neck, the HB-103N has a warm sound that makes every note sing with endless sustain. But even with clean amplifier settings, both pickups offer harmonic reproduction and excellent string separation.
High-quality hardware that can withstand even the toughest metal shows with indestructible functionality completes the equipment of the Jackson Scott Ian Signature King V. Accordingly, the classic combination of Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece is used on the body, which ensures perfect intonation and string position even during abysmal down-tunings. From the bridge, the 24.75" scale length (628 mm) strings are guided towards the headstock, on which Jackson Die-Cast tuners ensure precise and stable tuning.
