The Meinl B14EQH Byzance Vintage Equilibrium HiHat 14" is a Matt Garstka Signature model. The HiHat by Meinl is characterized by a soft playing feel, the hybrid surface and the dark and complex basic sound. The holes in the middle of the bottom cymbal shorten the sustain of the cymbal and cause more attack and precision.
Matt Garstka has been working with the progressive metal band "Animals as Leaders" on drums since 2012 and, thanks to his brilliant style, has caused a sensation in the drummer scene ever since. His Meinl Byzance Equilibrium HiHat is ideal for versatile drumming. The surface is sandblasted on the edge and untreated in the middle, while the underside is lathed. These different finishes and the holes in the underside result in a broad sound with fast response and a striking character.
The Byzance cymbals are made in Turkey according to old handicraft traditions, where they are hammered into shape by hand. In Gutenstetten, the precious B20 bronze cymbals receive the Byzance finish using the latest technology. With this combination of tradition and high-tech, the Byzance cymbals have secured themselves a firm place in all music styles of this world.
