The TLM 107 from Neumann is a modern and flexible studio microphone, which especially impresses with its fantastic impulse fidelity. The special features of this large-diaphragm microphone are the five patterns such as ball, cardioid, figure of eight and intermediate stages such as wide cardioid and hypercardioid. These characteristics can be set together with the PAD function and the low-cut (40Hz and 100Hz) via a single navigation switch with LED display. The settings are made on the back and do not distract the singer. In addition, the light LED switches off after a short time when not in use.

All characteristics work with the highest precision, while the sound is always balanced and shows presence and freshness with an almost linear reproduction up to 8kHz and a soft increase of the top frequencies. In addition, great importance was attached to a natural reproduction of speech sounds, so that even the well-known and critical S sounds do not come to the fore as strongly.

Acoustically optimized is also the speech basket, which is less susceptible to pop sounds. In addition, the transducer is edge-contacted, with both diaphragms at mass level. To be more precise: a significantly lower susceptibility to dust and moisture develops.

Another bonus is the extremely low or practically inaudible self-noise of only 10dB-A and the level stability. The maximum sound pressure level is 141 db SPL and can be increased to 153 dB SPL by means of preattenuation - even the loudest instruments can be recorded.

With all its features and professional features, the microphone can be used in many areas. In addition to vocal and voice recordings, this also includes orchestra recordings - whether string, wood or brass instruments.
