With the PRS Custom 24 Swamp Ash Slate Blue the noble guitar builder from Stevensville, Maryland presents a very special version of his most successful electric guitar. The top, for example, is made of intensely drawn maple, while the top of two PRS 85/15 Humbucker for a versatile sound with a modern character. Last but not least, robust and innovative PRS - Hardware in the form of Tremolo and Phase III Locking mechanics.
Paul Reed Smith uses the usual high quality woods for the construction of the PRS Custom 24 new models. A carefully selected piece of swamp ash is used for the body, while the top is made of maple, whose breathtakingly even grain is enhanced by the transparent finish in Slate Blue is brought to life with almost tangible depth. Together with a maple fingerboard, the electric guitar delivers a warm primary tone with a radiant response. In addition, the slim " Wide Thin " profile promises unhindered playability, so that even after hours of playing the guitar, every note can easily be heard.
The pickups are PRS Custom 24 Slate Blue an PRS 85/15 bass Humbucker in the neck position and an PRS 85/15 treble Humbucker on the bridge. These pickups were personally developed by Paul Reed Smith and reflect the 30 years of experience of the Marylander guitar maker in a contemporary sound image. Accordingly the pickups convince with a remarkably clear guitar sound, whose silky highs combined with the tight basses and melodic mids make every note played shine, both in the Clean - and in the Overdrive -channel. The 5-way blade switch can be used to recall the Humbucker coils in different combinations so that several sound nuances are available in the guitar sound.
The equipment of the Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 Swamp Ash Slate Blue is completed by high quality Hardware from our own house. On the body side, the strings are held in place by the tried and tested PRS Tremolo The hand pad is a very soft and functional hand pad with rounded edges that provide a comfortable support for the hand. At the headstock the strings run straight from the saddle to the PRS Phase III Locking machine heads. These guarantee a high tuning stability even with frequent Vibrato use and make string changing much easier. It is PRS Custom 24 also delivered in a noble PRS case, which offers the electric guitar the best possible protection during transport.
