The PQ Mastering Equalizer is a two-channel, fully parametric five-band equalizer. The PQ Mastering Equalizer - Model 1540/1544 is an advanced reissue of the renowned SPL PQ Mastering Equalizer - Model 2050 The new PQ has the same outstanding technical features as its predecessor. All five bands can be activated or deactivated individually and it is possible to switch between Constant Q and Proportional Q separately for each band. This circuit has not yet been implemented in any other equalizer. Each of the two channels can be completely deactivated or activated. Via the autobypass also automatically, in a freely selectable time window. The bypass of the individual bands and the Q characteristic of the left side can be controlled in link mode from the right side. Another highlight is the possibility to lower or increase the amplitude per band up to 20dB. If only minor changes are to be made to the music material, the height of the increase or decrease can be reduced by 3/4 using the 1/4 gain switch, which reduces the control range of the potentiometer from maximum +/-20dB to +/-5dB. This means that even small corrections, as is often the case in mastering, or higher amplitudes in proportional Q mode, can be reliably implemented. A perfect recall of all settings is easy to realize thanks to the rastered potentiometers. The parameters Gain, Frequency and Q can be adjusted in 41 steps with the PQ Mastering Equalizer via rastered potentiometers.
The 120V technology works with a DC voltage of 120 Volt. This corresponds to twice the operating voltage of the best discrete operational amplifiers and four times that of IC-based semiconductor operational amplifiers. The 120V technology achieves extraordinary technical specifications and sound advantages. Technically speaking, the dynamic range, signal-to-noise ratio and overdrive resistance. The sound is rich in detail and absolutely relaxed listening pleasure.
