High-quality sound thanks to discrete technology

The SPL Pre One is a high-quality two-channel microphone preamplifier developed for professional applications. Thanks to its discrete technology, it offers an exceptionally open and transparent sound characteristic. Both preamps have a gain control with a range of +8 to +62 dB, so that even demanding microphones can develop their full potential. Each channel is equipped with a 48 V phantom power switch, which is necessary for the operation of condenser microphones. A switchable high-pass filter is also integrated, which reduces impact sound and unwanted low-frequency interference below 80 Hz.

In addition to two microphone inputs, the Pre One offers a Hi-Z instrument input, which was specially developed for connecting instruments such as electric guitars, electric basses and synthesizers. This input is characterized by extremely low noise and ensures that instruments can also benefit from the outstanding sound of the preamplifier. The microphone inputs are electronically balanced and equipped with Neutrik XLR sockets and gold-plated contacts to ensure optimum signal transmission.

For further sound optimization, each preamplifier has two special EQ presets: the Flair function emphasizes the treble and creates a silky clarity in the overtone spectrum, while the Contour function blends the signal perfectly into dense mixes and retains the natural presence. For particularly loud signals, such as those found in drum or brass recordings, there are PAD switches on the rear panel that allow a 20 dB attenuation.

The line outputs of the Pre One are balanced and allow direct connection to audio interfaces or mixing consoles. The maximum output level is +22 dBu, while the input levels for microphone and instrument inputs are also sufficiently high. The device offers outstanding sound quality with a frequency response of 10 Hz to 200 kHz and an equivalent input noise of -126 dBu, making it ideal for recording in demanding environments.

Power is supplied via a 12 V plug-in power supply, with an operating voltage of +/-17 V generated internally for the analog audio ranges to ensure professional levels. With a robust housing designed for durability and compact dimensions of 210 x 49.6 x 220 mm, the Pre One is not only powerful but also space-saving.
