With the Vintage Hammered Steel snare drum LST1455H, the hammered steel shell makes a comeback in the Tama program. The 14"x5,5" shell produces - also because of the hammering - a very complex and dry sound with a lot of depth and complex harmonics.
The shell is made from 1,2 mm thick steel. The hammered provides an uneven surface of the shell which results in asymmetrical reflexion of the sound waves. The result is the dry, harmonic rich sound of the snare. The 2,3 mm Sound Arc hoop is made from steel. The 10 lugs in tube style are made from brass. The satin chrome finish of the shell is truly exceptional.
