The Teenage Engineering TX-6 is the smallest 6-channel stereo mixer with USB-C audio interface that has ever existed. The main application area is primarily in the mobile segment, because the TX-6 is equipped with a USB rechargeable battery with up to eight hours of operation. Likewise, the TX-6 is suitable for all those who prefer a VERY compact and well-equipped mixer including audio interface for their mode of operation. The practical device has a very high-quality finish, which can be heard not only due to the high-quality AD/DA converters, but can also be seen in the aluminum case and the case back, which is trimmed in leather. The configurable control panel layout provides direct access to the six stereo inputs, which have a comparably extensive parameterization as common analog mixers. Each channel is equipped with a gain stage, LED VU meter, 3-band equalizer, compressor and two effects sends. The effects contain with reverb, chorus, delay, freeze, tape, filter and Distortion not only good "must have" effects but also a lot of creative potential. The audio interface of the TX-6 sends six stereo tracks via USB-C to any DAW, so that the recording and post-processing of the recorded tracks can take place there.
Thanks to MFi, the connection with iOS devices is also possible. If the TX-6 is not used as a mixer and interface, it can also be used wirelessly as a Bluetooth MIDI controller for numerous applications. Another talent of the TX-6 is its integrated synthesizer with four waveforms and four drum sounds. Due to the tempo synchronization, the associated sequencer always stays in time and the own patterns are recorded quickly and to the point. Even mobile DJs have been thought of: in crossfader mode, channel 1 turns into a crossfader to crossfade between inputs 5 and 6.
