Successful learning to play the saxophone depends not only on one's own motivation, but also on competent and didactically skilful teaching. For this reason, Larry Teal, saxophonist, studio musician and saxophone teacher, wrote in 1963 the tried and tested teaching book "The Art or Saxophone Playing", which is still considered the most relevant in the English-speaking world. This textbook is aimed equally at teachers and learners, supporting both sides on their way to success.
With The Art of Saxophone Playing, the method is now being translated into German and made available to German music schools. It is still considered to be a modern teaching concept, which is suitable for all students and provides teachers with new input for the design of the learning process. Individual updates and additions added by the translator take into account changes in music physiology, physical work, methodology and didactics that have occurred since the book was written. After all, constant adaptation to current circumstances is what distinguishes a good teaching method.
