The Vivo SX8 from Dexibell is a sound expander that fits as a desktop unit and in a 19" rack. The digital sound generation offers 178 elaborately sampled sounds from the areas of piano, electric piano, plucked/percussive, strings, pad/choir, brass/synth and guitar/bass. In addition, a modeling synthesis for organ sounds including virtual drawbars is integrated, which provides an additional 100 memory locations for sounds. For your own sounds, 80 memory locations are available. With nine effect types (including chorus, vibrato, overdrive) and 24 reverb variants, everything is on board that, in conjunction with the tone generation, gives keyboardists everything they need for everyday stage, band and studio use. Thanks to high-resolution, extra-long samples with plenty of headroom and studio-grade signal converters (24-bit linear/48 KHz), a clear and assertive basic sound is guaranteed.
Plenty of voices
The full polyphony of 320 voices is distributed over three multitimbral parts, so that a Bass and a string can be played in parallel to the piano. When changing the program, the played notes sound out without being cut off, which is also due to the high polyphony.
Ways out
Audio recording to USB stick as well as audio and MIDI data transfer via USB make this expander a "play center" in the musician's everyday life. Via Bluetooth audio streaming the instrument is quickly connected to external speaker systems. The front USB port supports the MIDI protocol, so a USB master keyboard can be connected here. On the rear, in addition to the USB port (for audio and MIDI), you'll find inputs for sustain and expression pedals, MIDI In and Thru, and the sound module's audio outputs. The latter are balanced with XLR and unbalanced with a large jack.
