With the Gibson Modern Double Cut Standard Figured Heritage Cherry Sunburst the Gibson Custom Shop offers a contemporary player's guitar that skillfully combines modern amenities in terms of playability and sound with the traditional Gibson appointments. Consequently, the mahogany body not only carries a chic flamed maple top in timeless sunburst, but also lies extremely comfortably on the body with its generous belly carve. Wide Cutaways in combination with the "medium C" profile of the glued maple neck also allow the use of all 24 frets of the rosewood fingerboard. With Gibson '57 Classic pickups, the Gibson Modern Double Cut Standard Figured on the guitar amp delivers extremely lively PAF-style tones that feel at home in just about any genre between blues, rock and metal. Last but not least, Grover Rotomatics and the Tune-O-Matic bridge established since 1956 complete the Gibson Modern Double Cut Standard Figured Heritage Cherry Sunburst.

Classic woods and modern playing comfort

For the construction of the Gibson Modern Double Cut Standard Figured, the Gibson Custom Shop combines a classic wood selection with modern playability. Accordingly, the mahogany body with curly maple top and the glued mahogany neck create the basis for a powerful sound with long sustain. At the same time, the electric guitar lies comfortably on the player thanks to the generous belly carve on the back, while the neck can be played unhindered up to the 24th fret of the rosewood fingerboard thanks to the slanted neck foot and slim "Medium C" profile. In addition, the modern Apex headstock strengthens the transition from neck to headstock.

With Gibson '57 Classic and '57 Classic Plus pickups and straightforward 3-way switching, the Gibson Modern Double Cut delivers flexible blues and rock tones.

Gibson '57 Classic Pickups

As pickup for the Gibson Modern Double Cut Standard chooses the Gibson Custom Shop has chosen a '57 Classic humbucker on the neck and the more powerful '57 Classic Plus humbucker on the bridge, the most sought-after classics in the Gibson range. Equipped with Alnico II magnets, the humbuckers are subtly reworked descendants of the legendary PAF pickups and deliver a warm sound at the guitar amp, with a vocal midrange and lively dynamics that bring any clean or overdrive sound to life. Thanks to the waxed coils, both pickups are also immune to unwanted microphonics at high volumes and gain settings. The pickups are also controlled with a straightforward circuit consisting of a 3-way switch as well as Master Volume and Master Tone.
