The
Behind the sleek design of the Hagstrom Fantomen lies a classic construction with mahogany body and glued neck of the same material, providing the perfect foundation for powerful sounds. The "H Expander" truss rod makes the neck profile particularly slim and comfortable, letting every riff and solo come alive on the fretboard easily. The fretboard is made of the signature Hagström Resinator wood, a composite material made of wood glued together under high pressure that prevents any dead spots due to its homogeneous and dense structure.
The Nameless Ghouls chose Lundgren Design No. 2 and No. 5 neck and bridge humbuckers, designed by Swedish pickup legend Johan Lundgren, for their Hagstrom Fantomen. Equipped with Alnico II magnets, they crank up the amp and deliver a fat, perfectly defined sound for driving riffs and singing solos. The classic circuitry with a 3-way toggle switch and individual volume and tone controls allows a wide range of tonal options. The push/pull switch in the lower tone pot can be used to split both humbuckers, providing authentic single-coil sounds with a bell-like response.
Last but not least, Hagström Fantomen Ltd Metallic Silver offers high-quality hardware equipment that can handle even the toughest stage applications with unwavering reliability. Therefore, a classic stopbar tailpiece sits on the body, from which the strings are guided over the Long-Throw Tune-O-Matic bridge. Thanks to the extensive adjustment possibilities, this guarantees exact intonation and comfortable string action. From here, the strings span a down-tuning-friendly scale length of 25.5" (648 mm) up to the headstock, where GraphTech Ratio tuners with individual ratios for each string ensure precise and stable tuning.
This is a “Ghost” signature model made by Swedish company Hagstrom. I decided to buy this guitar after watching the band live . I was impressed by the way their guitars sounded and looked. Though I wasn’t expecting much. Mahogany body , mahogany neck, Alnico pickups and a nice form. Classical combination , BUT this guitar proved to be very special. First of all - the look, it is pretty big and not light , but you just feel the power when it is in your hands. Next , the sound , no ...THE SOUND. Classical Alnico pickups were elevated by Johan Lundgren. I really have never heard of him before , but it is magic. This guitar doesn’t forgive any mistakes while playing due to its absolutely crazy legibility. It pronounces every touch and it gives you an incredible control. Another thing about pickups is an ability to play them as singles. It really can deliver you that very Fender-like glass sound. And it makes the guitar really versatile. The tuning machines and other accessories are specially designed and look really nice and organic with the instrument. This is the guitar that can be everything you want it to be. An elegant jazzy tone or a metal axe. As for its price - it is really fare. But the pleasure is just priceless.
