Grand Feel Compact Keyboard

The CA 58 is the latest Kawai digital piano using the new keyboard of the Grand Feel Compact with wooden keys. Designed to reproduce the authentic touch weight characteristics of the industry-leading Grand Feel keyboards in a smaller form factor. It retains the long wooden keys used for all 88 black and white keys and the well-known"Seasaw" mechanism that has been used on acoustic grand pianos for centuries. Despite its smaller size, the keyboard offers extended key pivoting sounds that provide a more consistent touch weight when playing on the back of the keys.

The sounds of the Kawai CA 58

The Kawai CA 58 has special sounds because it captures the great sound of the flagship Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand piano. This incomparable instrument is handmade by Master Piano Artisans at the Shigeru Kawai Piano Research Laboratory in Ryuyo, Japan and is considered one of the best instruments in its class. The CA 58 also features the distinctive sound of Kawai's highly acclaimed Kawai EX concert grand piano. Both the SK-EX and EX are faithfully reproduced with full 88-key sampling using advanced Harmonic Imaging ™ sound technology.

Best sound through four loudspeakers

The CA 58 has a powerful 100W output system with four speakers that reproduces the harmonic spectrum of an acoustic piano. The lower frequencies are transmitted through the bottom of the instrument, while the mid and high frequencies are projected outwards through the top-mounted speakers, resulting in an expansive sound that accurately reproduces the sound projection of a grand piano.

Advanced connectivity through Bluetooth

In addition to MIDI and USB connections, the Kawai CA-58 can interact with smartphones, tablets and the like via Bluetooth. When paired with a phone, tablet or laptop, CA58 owners can extend the functionality of the device with a variety of educational, performance and scoring apps. A special Kawai Virtual Technician control app is also freely available and offers a pleasant way to experience and adjust various acoustic piano characteristics from an attractive touch surface.
