The Roland TD-50DP Digital Upgrade Pack is the ideal solution to take your Roland V-Drum setup to the next level. It consists of the TD-50 module and the two matching pads, namely the PD-140DS Snare Pad and the CY-18DR Ride Cymbal Pad. Both pads work with the exclusive and unique multi-sensor technology which brings more expression and power into your playing than ever before. The Roland TD-50 module with Prismatic Sound Modeling impresses with several innovations. The module can play samples via an SD card and integrate them into your playing, make 10-channel recordings with only one cable and it has 8 TSR direct outputs for professional performances with a band.

The TD-50 sound module is the first of the Roland family to feature Prismatic Sound Modeling. This technology allows a new level of dynamics and expressiveness, as the TD-50 module is capable of interpreting and implementing every nuance of your performance. Combined with the TD-50 series of digital drum pads, the TD-50's high-resolution processor offers outstanding results unrivaled in the e-drum market.
The gigantic internal sound database of the TD-50 sound module offers high-quality sounds and samples for every taste and for every conceivable situation. The TD-50 also offers the possibility to work with your own samples in WAV format. An SD card slot is available for this purpose. There are no limits to creative expression from a technical point of view. The device is complemented with effects and compressors, which can also be assigned individually for each channel. The Snap Shot feature is completely new and allows you to compare your sound settings quickly, without having to search through menus and submenus. Via USB, the TD-50 can be connected to a computer, with the help of a DAW, tracks can be recorded in a multi-track process. The USB 10-channel audio output ensures comfortable multi-track recording with only one USB cable.
Expressiveness and dynamics are taken to a new level. In combination with the TD-50 sound module, the ultimate sound concept for e-drums is defined. The PD-140DS snare pad combines the look and feel of a classic snare drum with the very latest in trigger technology.

The new Roland CY-18DR ride cymbal pad is a digital trigger pad with multi-sensor technology. In combination with the TD-50 sound module, the pad offers an ultra realistic sound concept with finest nuances and excellent dynamics. Additionally, the 18" size provides an authentic vibration behavior which adds to the very realistic playing feel. The Roland CY-18DR ride cymbal pad presents a new dimension of electronic drumming when it comes to expression, sound and dynamics.
The new Roland high-resolution multi-sensor trigger technology accurately reproduces every position and every nuance from the rim of the cymbal to the bell. A new communication protocol sends all the info to the Roland TD-50 module. The result is a level of dynamics that has never been experienced before. Every playing technique is accurately rendered. The cymbal also features a choke option and you can even slightly dampen the sound when you put you hand on it thanks to sophisticated touch sensors.
As an exclusive extra for Music Store customers, the TD-50 sound module comes with an extra sound pack on SD card with high quality drum samples, created and recorded by ex-Toto drummer Simon Phillips himself. The high-resolution samples offer tremendous dynamics and are not to be surpassed in sound quality and expressive power. With these features, the Simon Phillips samples are a great addition to the module's internal sounds, enriching the TD-50's sound offerings. In addition to the two Simon Phillips drum kits you will find two more kits on the SD card. This is a synth kit and a kit with drums from the 80s. There are also three songs on the SD card, which demonstrate the kits with original MIDI triggers from Simon Phillips.
The fifth drum kit on the included SD card is an exclusive sound package by Marco Minnemann, a German drummer, who now works as a musician in Los Angeles. Back in Europe Marco Minnemann played with Paul Gilbert, Udo Lindenberg, Paddy Kelly, Terry Bozzio, Chad Wackerman, Wolfgang Schmid, Kreator, Mike Keneally and Nena. In the USA, bands such as "The Aristocrats", tours with Steve Wilson and Joe Satriani, or the project "The Mute Gods" by Nick Beggs, the bass player and singer of the group "Kajagoogoo" followed.
Please note: The Roland PD-140DS Snare pad and the CY-18DR Ride Cymbal pad can only be operated with the TD-50 sound module because of the required high processing power and connections.
